Home embodies love, memory, and trauma, shaping our identities today. A journey without a destination often evokes memories of home. A realm where memories blur, overlaying experiences and images from the past. The scent of the moment lingers amidst the currents of historical change. Our sense of belonging is deeply rooted in the familiarity and comfort of home. It serves as a sanctuary where we can find solace and connection amidst the chaos of life.
The exhibition Homeward Bound explores the definition of 'home' in various contexts. It interprets this concept through the perspectives of contemporary artists from diverse regions, histories, and practices. The central focus is on studying culture, social phenomena, and time periods as defining elements of one's 'home'. Through a range of mediums such as painting, sculpture, video and multimedia installations, the artists invite viewers to reflect on their own sense of belonging and identity. The exhibition aims to provoke thought and dialogue on the complexities of what 'home' means in an increasingly interconnected world.
